Since December 2018 my employment experience includes cashier to the Food Lion To Go Lead, Bookseller at Barnes and Noble College and a temporary position at the North Carolina Department of Revenue during tax season. Although this is not a long period of time I have been asked to return to the NCDOR for the 2020 tax season and I have a standing invitation at the bookstore for open hours as needed. I first became employed at Winn Dixie at 15 years old. I then had employment at Food Lion for over a year, as well as PetSmart and then the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Afterward I then got married and we moved to Virginia, because he was now enlisted/stationed in the US Navy in Norfolk. I became employed at a veterinary office for 2 1/2 years while we were living there. Upon the end of his enlistment we returned to North Carolina and I became employed at Coastal Federal Credit Union as a teller/receptionist. At which point I became a stay at home mom in 2005 when I had my first child. I was forced back into the job market in 2014 as a merchandiser for Trends International and then realized this would be insufficient to support myself and my children after my husband and I separated. In reviewing my vocational skills I realized I needed more education and decided to go back to school. I am currently 21 credits away from obtaining my Associates Degree. Over the years I have found strengths and determination to learn and adapt to the challenges I am faced with which I find myself quite adept at. I learn easily those things that I challenge myself to and I am a good listener and with four kids I am exceptionally skilled at arbitration. I find being part of the work force a pleasant challenge and change, although I greatly enjoy being a mother. I have the responsibility of taking care of myself and my family which I take very seriously as I do the responsibilities given to me in the places that I am employed.
